Elyse Cooke

Elyse double-majored in Spanish and Elementary Education as a student at Wittenberg University. After her graduation in 2013, Elyse spent four years teaching 2nd and 3rd-grade students in Columbus, Ohio and Orlando, Florida. She was awarded Teacher of the Year in 2016 because of her proven track record of improving student test scores and building authentic relationships with the families she worked with. In 2020, Elyse graduated with her Master of Divinity degree from Candler School of Theology at Emory University. She is currently on the ordination track in the Episcopal Church with a passion for children and youth ministry. Elyse lives in Detroit, Michigan where she teaches fifth grade at an independent school. When she’s not working, she enjoys drinking good coffee, traveling, and spending time with her spouse and dogs.
