Courtney Fowler

Courtney Fowler double-majored in Psychology and Journalism/Mass Communications at Washington & Lee University, where she graduated in the third class of women accepted to the institution. While there, she coordinated the first-ever women’s sorority rush process run by students. After an early career in advertising in Atlanta, Detroit and New York, Courtney switched gears to corporate and then independent-school communications so that she could better use her writing and editing skills professionally. She has spent over a decade in communications roles at Atlanta International School and at The Lovett School, where she built and oversaw award-winning departments and programs. Courtney remains an active alumna of W&L, serving her alma mater over the years as a class agent, reunion committee member, and participant in their Alumni Admission Program. She has also volunteered at All Saints Episcopal Church and with the Parent Annual Fund Committee at Westminster, a school from which her son – a former Within Reach Education client – graduated. As a former high school spelling bee winner and proud alumna of the Georgia Governor’s Honors Program in Communicative Arts, she is a voracious reader and enjoys the daily “New York Times” crossword and other word puzzles.
